THE WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT OPENING The third story in the Small Town Romance series is a short novella, but it packs a punch within the pages. Yes, Goldie and her sex shop, Goldilocks play a major role in this story. There is also a small cameo appearance with George the garden gnome. This quick read takes place during a company Christmas party and has a fun cast of characters. This is the story of Sam and Emma. Emma Hardy had a memorable kiss in the elevator while she and Sam were in Seattle on a business trip, but it ended there. She hasn’t seen him since, and it’s been two months. But, that kiss, those feelings, are still fresh in her mind and play an active role in her fantasies. She just wished it went further and is somewhat confused as to why he stopped. The plot will have Emma going into Goldilocks to meet Violet for lunch and she needs to go shopping for a gift to be used at the White Elephant exchange. Goldie convinces her to allow her to take care of it for her and agrees to keep it in the ten dollar range. When she returns from lunch, it is neatly wrapped, but even shaking the box gives no clue. Enjoying the party, seeing co-workers, have great food, she starts to get a bit antsy when she learns that there are two young boys at the party and has no clue what Goldie wrapped. Then when Sam shows up, the heat does too. “I gave a little moan of pleasure and felt a shiver race down my spine. It was a little unsettling the reaction I had to this man. This was way more than chemistry. This was geology too because I could have sworn I felt the earth move.” As the gift exchange plays out, Emma really starts to worry about one of the boys opening the unknown package, but instead, Sam picks it. The gift is well received, and even the two boys are fascinated with it. A kiss under the mistletoe was just as panty-melting as the one in the elevator, but what will become of Sam and Emma. “I really like my white elephant gift. Especially knowing they came from you.” The last Sam said on a very teasing flirting tone. Will Goldie, along with George the Gnome, and two young boys all play cupid in bringing these two together? Once Sam explains where he has been and why he has been away helping to ease Emma’s mind? Maybe the two months apart and meeting up again helps Emma and Sam know that the chemistry between them is still there, maybe even stronger and worth exploring. “Sam. Me. Handcuffs and a bed. What could be better?” The story is a quick read with just enough history to get to know the characters, but I sure wouldn’t mind seeing more of Sam and Emma in the future. You can’t help but love the sassiness of Goldie who doesn’t have a shy bone in her body, or afraid to say whatever is on her mind. While the story does have a sex scene, it isn’t overly emphasized.

4.5 stars of happiness Montana heat was a fun read from beginning to end. It’s a nice little story about what could’ve been and ended up being. Then the author went and threw in some spicy play in a little white lie that was at times hilarious and scintillating. The characters are fun and the situation they found themselves was extremely entertaining. And for me one of the best parts was all of the laughter that kept coming out of me with the interactions of all the characters. Goldie is at her best, even when I don’t think she intended it, her methods really work. Suffice it to say I really enjoyed the story. eARC through L Woods PR

Short and sweet, but sexy as can be! Sam has to leave Emma wondering about his intentions after their steamy kiss, but he's determined to remove all the obstacles so they can pursue their relationship. Meanwhile, Emma just thinks she's been passed over by the hottest guy she's ever met. This short but steamy romance includes Goldie's assistance with a Christmas present, a very public game with very private thoughts, a pair of handcuffs wielded by Goldie's young grandson, a blindfolded gnome, and a surprise twist that pulls everything together perfectly! It's a wonderful holiday novella, and I loved Emma and Sam together. So much fun makes this a great addition to this series! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
