The real nightmare starts when her daughter is returned...

A girl is missing. Five years old, taken from outside her school. She has vanished, traceless.

The police are at a loss; her parents are beyond grief. Their daughter is lost forever, perhaps dead, perhaps enslaved.

But the biggest mystery is yet to come: one week after she was abducted, their daughter is returned.

She has no memory of where she has been. And this, for her mother, is just the beginning of the nightmare.

Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, C. L. Taylor and Lucy Foley

The style of writing was a little infuriating to me. The plot was good and had imagination although the ending was a little predictable. What annoyed me was the amount of fluff this author put into the story. Every other paragraph went into too much detail about, what seemed to me, useless information. In addition, while in the middle of an intense situation, the author would deter from the current engagement to mention in several paragraphs more pointless banter or unnecessary flashbacks. Not my style.

I could barely finish it! It dragged on and on with unnecessary descriptions, besides that the main character was hardly likeable at all. She came across as unfeeling and dry as well as not very bright. The relationship with her husband was extremely back and forth. It was like being in the head of a 14 year old girl. The kidnapping and ensuing story was predictable. Some parts were very well written while others were all over the place.

Almost quit reading this book several times, until about 60% through. Then it started to get increasingly interesting. It does have some very good plot twists and a good base story; just wish it had caught me sooner. Ended well, but probably won't read it again.
