About this ebook

Sixteen-year-old Farris Barnett is a girl with a big heart and a mouth to match. Recently relocated to sunny North Carolina, she’s all too pleased to be leaving her old life—and the stigma of her troubled past—behind her. A new school, new friends, and not one but two hot guys vying for her attention, life certainly doesn’t suck. But just as things seem to finally be going her way, a series of computer hacks puts her newfound happiness—and the lives of the people she loves—in jeopardy.
Farris must put her amateur sleuthing skills to work and uncover the identity of the person behind it all before they graduate from harmless tampering to all out murder, even if it means risking her own life in the process. And unfortunately for Farris, the guy she’s falling for just happens to be the prime suspect.

Enjoyable mystery story. After the death of her mother, Farries and her father move to another base. Both need a fresh start in their life and Farries’s conversations with her father, on this ground, is beautiful. There at the new base, Farries starts making new friends with people who are like her. That is when the mystery starts. The way Farries solves the mystery and even starts suspecting her new friends and her feelings at that, are so beautifully brought out that I felt that the scenes were natural. Loved the quick paced spy story.

I don't read much YA fiction, but Sherry Ficklin has impressed me before with her well-developed stories, e.g. Queen of Someday, etc. I found this story is no exception. It's interesting, well-paced, and worth the time spent. The text could use a bit more close editing; otherwise, I'd have rated the book 5 stars.
