About the author
Jess Vaughn is a U.S. native, unofficially adopted decades ago by Italian friends while in her beloved country, Italy, but currently resides in the hills and valleys of North Carolina.
Ms. Vaughn got her start in creative writing as an elementary school student in third grade and continued on through the encouragement of mostly her English and drama teachers throughout grade school and secondary school. She entered many poetry / writing contests throughout her school years and consistently won regional & national honor awards for her work.
She went on to write & direct short plays in high school, and had her works including her own invitation-only poetry recital performed by her 12th grade drama class for schoolwide presentations. She sold freelance work to Hallmark at 16 years old and was offered an opportunity to pursue full time work with them but had to concede as she was still a teen at that time. Nevertheless, she continued to develop creative writing skills over the decades.
