This book is a real gem. It is really wonderful that something of this kind exists as it gives us an glimpse into the traditions and customs of Tulunadu -- a region where the local language script has been lost and there is not much literature to provide insights into how things were 200 years ago. This is perhaps the earliest recording of life as it was in coastal Karnataka. The book traces the history of the coastal region, their way of life and their beliefs as the author makes his journey across what was once the kingdom of Tipu Sultan.
