About this ebook

He’s determined to leave his past behind. She’s committed to a new and better future. But a guarded heart and an inability to trust may be too much to overcome, even in paradise.

Cass Cutler's life is full—of nothing. So when she gets the news that she's inherited her father's yacht, there's no reason not to head to paradise for a new start on the picture perfect beaches and the crystal clear waters of Panama for a fresh start. Learning how to sail and operate a boat is just the challenge she needs.

When Archer Wolfe arrived in Panama he was looking for a change of scenery and maybe a bit of adventure, he was definitely not looking for a relationship. But a feisty little blond in a tight tank top fiercely determined to prove she can handle the big boat she somehow inherited, could change all of that. If only he can convince her to give in to their desire.

Despite their attraction, the last thing Cass wants or needs, is another man in her life who’s just going to leave. Archer is nothing more than fantasy, and he needs to stay that way if she hopes to save her inheritance—and her heart—before she loses everything.

Shelter by the Sea by Elena Aitken is the first book in her new Destination Paradise series. We begin this story with Cass Cutler arriving in Panama after leaving her life in Seattle. She is on a mission to find out what happened to her father, who has been missing for three years. Archer Wolfe was a chef for Samantha Burke’s bar in Cedar Springs, in Canada, where Ms. Aitken’s The Springs series takes place. Archer was given the trip to Panama as a gift from Samantha. Once there, Archer decided he wanted to travel more before, or if, he returned to Canada. These two, Cass and Archer are both loss souls. Both need to find a purpose for themselves. To find out who they really were. Cass learns that her father left his boat behind when he disappeared. Her dad had left Cass when she was a young teenager and believed that this was just more of his disappearing act. Cass and Archer work together to run a charter business on her sailboat. This was the perfect solution for both of them. The attraction between the two grows as they work together. Cass needs to learn that she can trust Archer, that he will not leave her, like her father did. This was a fun and entertaining story with likeable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

The perfect way to start your summer but on the beaches of Panama, plenty of romance and drama that will keep you turning the pages. Great chemistry between the characters of Cass and Archer. Archer not afraid to go after what he wants and will not let Cass get away. Cass, is afraid to open her heart again to heartbreak, but she soon breaks that barrier. I highly recommend that you add this book to your summer reads.

Great story by Elena Aitken! Looking forward to reading more of her stories. Archer Wolfe never thought that he would leave his home town in the mountains for a tropical paradise, but that is just what he did when his friends bought him a ticket to go have some new experiences and meet new people. It seemed that they knew just what he needed in his life and that included a new location, job and a woman that no matter what he just couldn't get her out of his system. Cass Cutler had no idea what she was going to find when she headed to the last place that her dad had lived after leaving her when she was just a child, but the change was definitely what she needed so buying a ticket and quitting her job were just the start of finding what she wanted in life. She had no idea that with her new life came a new guy who made her feel things that she wasn't willing to feel especially if it meant the possibility of losing her heart. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusion are mine and mine alone.
