Il glossario, frutto di una ricerca, tuttora in corso, che si è dipanata per molti anni fra documenti di archivio e osservazioni sul costruito, costituisce un ulteriore tassello che va a inserirsi in un più ampio lavoro sulla storia del costruire genovese, nel cui ambito sono già usciti nella Collana i volumi dedicati al rinnovo architettonico a Genova tra XVI e XVII secolo e alle relative modifiche nelle tecniche costruttive e nei materiali utilizzati. Il glossario è in ordine alfabetico, ma è stato inserito nel volume anche un indice tematico dei termini suddivisi a seconda dell’ambito del significato, in maniera da consentire anche una ricerca per categoria tematica.
