Every so often a story comes along that makes a reader stop and take notice. It's never one specific aspect for me but the combined product that has a profound affect. Love Walks In by Samantha Chase is one of those reads. Thank you Samantha Chase for writing such a thought provoking story. Sourcebooks for publishing it and NetGalley for approving my request. This story was a hard read for me. Beautifully written with characters that any reader can picture and love. What broke me into was the heartbreaking circumstances that left such a lasting footprint on the lives of such young vital people. Aubrey lost her dream, her family and the way she felt about herself in one instant. Hugh lost his center and closed his heart. There was a positive with Aubrey and Hugh's story they learned not to take life for granted. That is a lesson we all need to remember. A powerful story...but then again from Samantha Chase, I'd expect nothing less.

Hugh Shaughnessy wasn’t always a stickler for keeping schedules, but years ago a moment of misguided pride had catastrophic consequences, and Hugh changed his way of life drastically. He’s compulsive about never leaving room for unpredictable events. Until Aubrey Burke climbed in through his office window. Aubrey lives for the spur of the moment and completely upsets Hugh’s carefully ordered world. And LOVE WALKS IN is so much more than the blurb ever let on. Absolutely nothing happened the way I expected: Ms. Chase gives a completely new spin to the opposites attract trope, mostly due to the exceptionally well-drawn characters and their complex – and at times heartbreaking – backstories. Hugh is a very interesting character, if not entirely lovable at first, but when we get to know more, it’s easy to understand his motivations for his rigid lifestyle. Aubrey is a total delight: I loved her upon meeting her, and even more thereafter. Hugh and Aubrey show much growth throughout the book, and this is masterfully handled by Ms. Chase. The build-up for the romance is meticulous and feels authentic, the pacing is just right, and I loved the Shaughnessy family dynamics: they feel like a real family, warts and all, their banter is exactly what you would expect between brothers, as do the conversations between the women – girlfriends and Darcy, the Shaughnessy sister. I also very much appreciated that Samantha Chase doesn’t waste her precious talent on unnecessary explicit sex scenes, but rather focuses on telling an amazing story. Ms. Chase’s writing is flawless, flowing, elegant, modern and very eloquent. I expected the author to take the easy way out, but she didn’t, and the conclusion and epilogue are perfection itself. LOVE WALKS IN is an astonishingly good book that touched me, made me laugh, and, well, made my day! LOVE WALKS IN is a must-read for anyone who enjoys superior storytelling, great writing, and supremely well-crafted characters! I received a complimentary of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this story! These Shaughnessy brothers are all so amazing and each one affected in his own way by the loss of their mother years ago. Some things become a way of life though and for Hugh Shaughnessy, schedule and routine are what got him through the dark days and what still works for him today. That is until Aubrey Burke literally tumbled her way into his office. She's running from what could have been the biggest mistake of her life. Luckily Hugh helps her out of a tough situation and she can get on with living her life. When she garners the attention of Hugh's very important client, they have not choice but to find a way to get along. She's a live for the moment type person and he's all scheduled up. Will they survive?? And what about that pesky attraction between them? As I said I loved this one. These characters are amazing and the story that Samantha Chase has crafted around them is stellar. I definitely recommend this one.
