This is an EXCELLENT Read!!! This book is not what I was expecting from reading the description of the story...but I am so glad that I continued reading it!!! (I don't normally read this type of story...wizards and sorcerers... but I was so invested in the plot, that by the time the wizards and sorcerers come into play, I HAD to continue reading so that I could find out what happens!!!). I HIGHLY recommend this book!!! It's a keeper!!!

Starts out as regular space military sci fi. Mixes it up with magic so well, I can't stop reading. I'm already into the third book in this series. Well done.

I highly recommend this series. This first book, like all series' first books, start out a bit slow just to set the stage. The plot is fantastic with several twists and turns, in the tradition of great space operas. Many opportunities in the future for novellas or full-length stories on other characters/teams (such as the Dark Knights). UPDATE: on the series' website, the dummies for books 2&3 show they aren't centered on the same characters nor same decade. This concerns me

Vincent, father and husband of nearly two decades, holds degrees in both Math and Computer Science. In addition, he has published an astronomy journal and anchored popular blogs, along with publishing numerous articles, poetry and other works.
