About this ebook

The second book in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling Rose Gardner Mystery series.

When Rose reports for Fenton County jury duty she figures she’s lucky to get out of a morning working at the DMV. Instead, despite a disastrous encounter with the new assistant district attorney, Mason Deveraux, she’s picked as a juror on a murder case. As the case progresses, she realizes an ominous vision she had in the men’s restroom proves the defendant is innocent. And there’s not a cotton picking thing she can do about it.

Or is there?

As if things weren’t bad enough, Rose’s older sister Violet is going through a mid-life crisis. Violet insists that Rose stop seeing her sexy new boyfriend, Arkansas state detective Joe Simmons, and date other men. Rose is done letting people boss her around, but she can’t commit to Joe either. Still, Rose isn’t about to let the best thing in her life slip away.

Cute, easy read. Lots of twist and turns, within that Arkansas twang of slang that gives it a nice homey feel like you are talking to your favorite Aunt. Pretty well developed sister relation. The one you love to hate. The romance is warm cozy and just on the verge of steamy. Safe romance, not uncomfortable romance.

Sassy, sassy, sassy plus! God I love Rose as a character. :) She's really come a long way in the first two novels & it's been exciting to watch her grow and develop. I've become quite hooked on these stories! Number two in the series has a LOT going on & without putting any spoilers in, you can see that there is quite a few backstories that would provide great plotlines for future novels. I'm clamoring to find out what happens in the next installment!

Though throughout the series it becomes predictable as to what Rose will do, they are still very good books. Suspenseful within the mystery, and along with a beautiful love story. This series is good for everyone!
