About this ebook

Book one in the new humorous contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Denise Grover Swank.

Megan Vandemeer meant to tell her parents about her broken engagement, but a month and a half later she finds herself boarding a plane home to her wedding. Having stretched avoidance to its limits, it's time to come clean--a terrifying prospect since her mother is sure to blame her rather than her cheating, emotionally frigid ex. A couple of drinks and two Dramamine later, Megan finds herself spilling her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger in the seat next to her.

With only one week left to save his business, Josh McMillan boards a plane to Kansas City in a last-ditch effort, leaving the details to chance. An unexpected answer is delivered in the form of the beautiful brunette beside him. Though she’s completely loopy, her honesty, openness, and humor charm him. So when she passes out before landing, he helps her off the plane--a good deed that leads to a colossal misunderstanding. Her parents assume he’s her fiancé. In a twist of fate, the mix-up might help Josh save his business, so he plays along, figuring he can help Megan too. All he has to do is stage a public break up convincing enough to appease her mother.

Josh is only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he and Megan spend together, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real…and the less they want to break it off. Can a relationship that began as a farce turn into happily ever after?

That was probably one of the best romance books I've ever read :) It is definitely easy and fun to read but it also has really heartbreak that will bring tears to your eyes. I have to say that Denise Grover Swank is one of my favorite authors and I will read pretty much everything she writes. And this story definitely didn't disappoint. It is definitely different from her other series and here you won't find any mysteries or paranormal beings. But the book is still a page turner. The author masterfully details the antics of the main characters and simply makes you fall in love with them. At times the characters and the scenes felt so real that it was like I was there and was seeing everything with my own eyes :) In a few words, I definitely recommend this book :) It will mostly make you smile but also shed a tear or two. I fell in love with all the characters and I can't wait to meet them again in the next book of the series :) Definitely a must read so don't wait and the moment the book comes live just #oneclick it ;) This review was first posted on Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I was given an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

The Wedding Pact is a new favorite series after reading The Substitute! Megan Vandemeer boards a flight home for her wedding, but the problem is she broke up with Jay six weeks ago when she found him cheating with his secretary. Too frightened to confess to her domineering and hard-to-please mother, she heads towards Kansas City with the intent to tell her in person. Josh McMillan boards the fight to Kansas City on a last ditch effort to save his family business. He's looking for the person responsible for stealing his design leading to the rejection of his patent. The business will fail in a matter of days without answers. Leaving it up to fate, he sits down next to Megan only to inadvertently become her savior when she mixes dramamine and alcohol, passing out on the flight. The next thing he knows, he's meeting her family after passing himself off as her fiancé so he can get her off of the plane. When he realizes he is meeting the very man he suspects to have his design, how can he help but continue the charade? What is not to love about this story? The humor is absolutely worth laughing out loud! I can't tell you how many times I found myself laughing at the one-liners

Megan was on her way to finally confess to her domineering mother that the wedding she had been planning was not going to take place and to once again feel the weight of her mothers disapproval. Josh got on that plane to save his fathers legacy, the business he had poured his heart into. Little did he know that fate was going to put him right next to the one person who might get him close to the answers he needed....and from there the fun begins! Megan and Josh have so much chemistry from the start that you know it is going to be a wild ride and yes, Denise Grover Swank delivers! Mixed in with all the fun you get a peak into family dynamics and get to see how what we sometimes know as truth isn't always the entire picture! Wonderful story with fantastic characters and home run for the first book in her Denise's new series!
