How is she supposed to show that women don't need men when the attendees keep ogling the hunky first responders? Olivia asks neighbor Brody to help keep the two groups separate—but he asks her on a date instead. Can she avert disaster? The Blue Moon Bay series veers a little more toward women's fiction, a little less toward chick lit, than some of Hatler's other series. This is a heartfelt novella with true-to-life characters trying to figure out this adulting thing, especially the falling in love part. Olivia is a little shy and sensitive, Brody more fun-loving. But he's serious where Olivia is concerned, and unwilling to let her natural reticence freeze him out. It's a short but emotional read. Thanks, Booksprout, for the ARC I received.
