About this ebook

At not quite fifteen, Stefan's father finally let him board the longship, Sja Vinna, to take part in his first Viking raid. Yet, the battle was not at all what he expected, and he soon found himself alone and stranded in Scotland.

Thirteen-year-old Kannak's situation was just as grave. Her father deserted them and the only way to survive, she decided, was to take a husband over her mother's objections. Instead, she found herself hiding a hated Viking, and that wasn't the only problem - someone was plotting to kill the clan's beloved laird.

While trying to work out the weird Languages used by Marti Talbott - the 'person' responsible for this haggis-like novelette (though I could easily believe it was an AI experiment !) – I thought Thank God I didn't pay money for this tripe ! Some half-wit will attempt to defend this drivel by saying: "It's aimed at Young Adult readers !" To which I will reply: Please Do NOT allow This into the hands, and minds, of Anyone who can't yet purchase books from Google Play Books, or any other Book Sites ! You may actually cause Harm by allowing this obviously Unresearched, Self-edited, Load Of Auld Boll**ks to be an "Information Source"! Doubly so If that young person is starting to study History, or worse, has a burgeoning interest in Dark Ages/Viking/Early European Histories – Especially given the amount of Television shows & Books which already use Historical "Faction" to make Characters & Stories more easily accessible & understood by Modern Audiences mostly ignorant of these Subjects !

It's tagged as historical but it looks like all the author knows about vikings is that they traveled in boats. Pretty much everything else was wrong. Waste of my time.

I really enjoyed this history laden love story, being fascinated for years by the Norse and Vikings. (Viking means raider - not all Norse were raiders) I found myself entranced by the growing relationship between the main characters. I have one quibble based on history: potatoes were not introduced to Europe when the Vikings sailed, being native to South America.
