I love these little fictional towns that sound and feel so real. Cherry Lake is not to far from Marietta and it is slowly becoming another favorite town for me to visit in my book travels. I do have tendency to visit Montana a lot. Must be something about the cowboys, the snow (which we do not get here in Texas) and the warm feeling I always seem to come away with. In this book our author gives us two folks who are not youngin's but not middle aged either. I like the fact that they have lived some life and are being asked by life's itself to make changes. It was so nice to see normal folks not young kids in a book. The storyline really had me from the start because I am an artist and Dakota Moore is one as well. Her life mirrors mine and that makes for a great read in a book. Pro Soccer player Adam Clements comes home to help out in his father's real estate office. Oh fate has they should meet when she comes to pick up the key to her rental cottage. Know that this book moves at the perfect rate that it should. It moves and flows like the snow in the trees. The details our author gives us in this book brings the trees alive. Her descriptions of the ornaments that Dakota creates had me going to me my sewing room and picking up my sketch book to design a new creation. This book inspired as well as was a good read and that to me IS a good book.

After damaging one of her hands in a car accident, Dakota not only lost her ability to create jewelry but lost her fiance' as well. Feeling she would never be able to get her life back if she didn't get away from her coddling parents, she moved to Cherry Lake. Eager to fit into the community, she volunteered to work on the community's annual Christmas tree gala. Adam came back to Cherry Lake to take over his father's real estate business. His father had just had a serious heart attack and Adam wanted to give him time to recover without worrying about the business. The timing was perfect since Adam's soccer team was on a break. This is where Dakota met Adam. When he to volunteered for the Christmas tree gala, they found that they worked well together. This just made their mutual attraction stronger. However, since Adam was only there for a short time, he didn't want to start anything with Dakota. But you can't control the heart. I really liked Dakota and Adam. I couldn't help feel sorry for Dakota after having the accident. Not being able to make jewelry as she loved to (and was famous for) was devastating for her. I admired her determination to find another way to be creative. Adam was a good man who didn't hesitate to help out his family and community, even though he was struggling with his own problems. Should he retire or not? With constant soccer-related injuries, he needed to decide soon. This is a wonderful story about friendship, community and love. It will keep you smiling as you follow this couple in their relationship and the events taking place around Christmas time. I was happy to receive this book from Library Thing and give my opinion of it.

The Moore Sisters of Montana, book one. Christmas Glitter by Ann B. Harrison. A great start to a new series. Dakota starts a new life after a serious accident leaves a important part of it changed. When she moves to Cherry Lake to be close to her sister and nephew she picks up her rental house keys and meets Adam a professional soccer player who is home helping in the family business while his father recuperates after having a heart attack. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series and more by this author.
