About the author
Gregory Payette is an author and artist born outside Providence, Rhode Island.
He has written more than twenty-five novels, including crime fiction, short stories, and character-driven fiction about the way people actually live.
After the death of his father in 2024, Gregory began writing stories that moved closer to the quiet truths of everyday life. His newer work is often set in 1970s and 80s New England and explores themes of family, loss, change, and finding a way forward.
His paintings, known for their sense of solitude and place, often become the covers for his books. He now lives in North Carolina, which still surprises him some mornings.
