Life over Death. Triumph over Failure. Hope over Despair. In Tale of Tala, Henry, a bestselling New York writer is trying to cope with the unexpected death of his mother and the failure of his latest book. His life a triumphant success had collapsed. Flying to Amsterdam to indulge in decadence and depravity, Henry gorges on everything from illicit drugs to vile carnal acts. Wanting more, he heads to Slovenia. Enter Tala - a strikingly beautiful but deceptively cunning prostitute. A Palestinian refugee, her tale of loss and suffering strikes a chord with Henry. The perilous journey between Turkey and Greece; the desperate search for her husband Bilal; kidnapped by human traffickers. Finding himself falling in love, Henry promises to search for the missing Bilal and vows to protect his muse from the perils of life. For a man used to winning, one might wonder how far he will go to help Tala, or will he only go far enough to keep her for himself? Three People. Three Journeys. One Tale. Lies over Truth. Murder over Safety. Crisis over Peace. When a winner loses everything will he become villain or victim? Chaker Khazaal traveled through Europe and the Middle East in 2015 talking to refugees about their different experiences. Inspired by various stories comes a descriptive narrative of the plight of refugees, presented in this romantic thriller novel. Dear Readers, I was inspired to write Confessions of a War Child, the first novel of the trilogy, on July 1st, 2012 the same night a dear friend, Ryan Maiden, left our world. Reflecting, I asked his soul: “Where are you now?” – The battle for love is a war worth winning – Weddings signify the eternal bond between two people in love. But on this day, a bullet ends a marriage at the exact moment of its union. In Confessions of a War Child, the lasting damage draws two towns into a lifetime of hatred and war, and a new, young bride into a lifetime of sadness and grief. Now eighty-seven years of age, Camilia has never recovered from the loss of her husband, and true soul mate, sixty-six years ago. During all that time, she never once revealed the secret ‘locked’ in her heart. So when, through no real fault of her own, her ‘key’ falls into the hands of twenty-four-year-old refugee Nader, we are taken on an adventure – traveling to his exciting future and revisiting her devastating past – to find and return what is rightfully hers. By combining a series of separate stories, involving multiple characters and timeframes, into one cohesive narrative, we are empowered with a sense of intrigue every step of the way. Narrated by the deceased groom, weaving a beautiful love story among dangerous warfare, Confessions of a War Child creates a mesmerizing atmosphere that will captivate readers from the very first words. Inspired by true narratives of war children, with a unique mix of mystery, romance, and murder, the story blends fiction and truth in an engaging manner that can’t be denied. As the first installment, Confessions of a War Child is certain to resonate with readers around the world.
Sahara – the final installment of the Confessions of a War Child trilogy. Focused on the rise of terrorist acts, and ongoing unrest in the Middle East, the concluding novel blends real-time conflict with fiction, twisting and turning – at full throttle – down a bumpy road of trickery, remorse and adoration. In Confessions of a War Child – Sahara, the power of love vs. the love of power becomes a potent struggle when intertwined with a deadly confession. A traitorous spy. His beautiful wife. Secrets and lies. One knife. Two hearts. Their love unravels in a pool of blood. A tragic murder-suicide. – paralyzed by fear, consumed with guilt, defenseless – Narrated by a new character in the trilogy, his presence is felt from chapter one’s “Revelation”, to the final “Confession”. A broken soul, he maneuvers his way to the World of the Dead, Searching for his beloved wife Sahara – so named after her country of birth – he casts his eyes down to his beloved home Sahara. Witnessing the revolution from afar – death and destruction brought about by his hand – she is the only Sahara that matters. “Fear is the only feeling that deters us from making our dreams come true.” “Was it more important to live a dream than to fulfill one?” ? Over the years, Chaker has traveled throughout the Middle East, speaking to war children and refugees in conflict zones. He was so inspired by their stories, the writing seed was sown. Flourishing into a trilogy, this unique mix of intrigue, murder, and romance – spanning eighty-three years, and into the future – has come to an end .. or has it?
Wizard’s First Rule, the first novel by Terry Goodkind, was a phenomenon from the moment it was published by Tor Books in 1994, selling more than 100,000 copies in North America alone. It still sells more than 100,000 copies a year and has gone on to bestsellerdom in the United Kingdom and in more than twenty foreign translations as well as audiobook form.

It is now being developed as one of the most ambitious television miniseries of all time. Executive Producer Sam Raimi (director of the three Spider-Man movies), in collaboration with Disney/ABC, is creating a 22-episode adaptation of the book to be filmed in New Zealand.

Richard and Kahlan’s story unfolds over ten more novels, collectively known as the Sword of Truth series, concluding with Confessor in 2007. Placing Goodkind in the elite club of #1 New York Times bestselling authors, the series has sold more than twenty million copies to date worldwide.

In Wizard’s First Rule, Goodkind introduced the world to an ordinary forest guide, Richard Cypher, and the mysterious, powerful woman he comes to love, Kahlan Amnell. Learning his true identity, Richard accepts his destiny as the one man who can stop the bloodthirsty tyrant Darken Rahl. Hunted relentlessly, betrayed and alone, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword and invoke something more noble within himself as the final confrontation with Darken Rahl looms.

The importance of Wizard’s First Rule is sourced in Goodkind taking on the toughest of all literary challenges: to tell an electrifying story of action, violence, and adventure that also makes people think, and that would influence the choices and actions of its readers.
