About this ebook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER The Racketeer is guilty of only one thing: keeping us engaged until the very last page.”—USA Today In the history of the United States, only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.

His body is found in his remote lakeside cabin. There is no sign of forced entry or struggle. Just two dead bodies: Judge Fawcett and his young secretary. And one large, state-of-the-art, extremely secure safe, opened and emptied.

One man, a former attorney, knows who killed Judge Fawcett, and why. But that man, Malcolm Bannister, is currently residing in the Federal Prison Camp near Frostburg, Maryland. Though serving time, Malcolm has an ace up his sleeve. He has information the FBI would love to know. Malcolm would love to tell them. But everything has a price—and the man known as the Racketeer wasn’t born yesterday.

I think this review applies to anyone who can read tolerably well, has any experience with a law firm, has any intellect or enjoys a splendidly written mystery. If you have none of these traits then don't read a Grisham book. It'll be a waste of your time, given those constraints and I mean that in the kindest way possible. Simply put, everything written by this clearly superior writer will rivet one to one's chair up to the very end. Even TV adaptations can't ruin a Grisham story. IMO.

The beginning of the book had alot to draw you in and seemed like a good book. About half way through you can figure out what is happening and the author seemed to lose intrest in the story. Long drawn out details of a room while quick mentions of the actual progression of the plot. Not worth reading. *spoiler aleart now* ends with a high five and a dip in the ocean.

My first Grisham read a quite sometime. The story started out quick and held my interest. I continually tried to guess where the story was heading but the author always took it a different way. The "movie filming " section of the book was a bit slower than the rest of the story and the lengthy detail was a bit over done in my opinion. Other than that I was interested throughout and satisfied with the ending.
