Little Zaches is a grotesquely ugly child, abandoned by his repulsed mother. This book is a condensed and simplified version of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann’s work «Little Zaches called Zinnober» (ger. «Klein Zaches, genannt Zinnober»).
