Clean standalone HEA interconnected series Prequel Hope August pulls off another page turning emotional read. Be prepared! Robert is a struggling widower who is on the verge of losing the ranch that has been passed down through his wife's side of the family. One evening, just as he is thinking about his options and possibly moving closer to his son's family a car pulls up carrying his 5 grandkids. Before the adults can say anything, he knows that something must have happened to his son and daughter-in-law. How is he going to care for 5 little boys ranging in age from 8 to an infant and deal with the ranch by himself? Robert decides to call an agency and hire a nanny. He can handle having a college age girl there helping with the kids. Paige is the nanny assigned to help. She is from the area years ago as a kid. Slight problem. She's not college age. Paige is around Robert's age. Never married, no family, now what is he supposed to do? Both are not looking for love but feel a connection. Will they just be friends or become more? They are wonderful characters that are immediately attracted to each other but fight their feelings and try to stay professional. While trying to save his ranch, he loses sight of what is really important. This prequel tells their story before the boys are grown and have their own stories. I really enjoyed reading this.
