About this ebook

An instant classic, this revised and updated edition of the phenomenal bestseller dispels the myths about starting your own business. Small business consultant and author Michael E. Gerber, with sharp insight gained from years of experience, points out how common assumptions, expectations, and even technical expertise can get in the way of running a successful business.

Gerber walks you through the steps in the life of a business—from entrepreneurial infancy through adolescent growing pains to the mature entrepreneurial perspective: the guiding light of all businesses that succeed—and shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business, whether or not it is a franchise. Most importantly, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business and working in your business.

The E-Myth Revisited will help you grow your business in a productive, assured way.

I honestly expected more. I expected to learn about different types of entrepreneurs. Maybe dig a little deeper into all the different types I've read about. But it really seems like this author is attempting to discourage people from starting businesses. Going on and on about how hard it is. People who start businesses should already know the challenges they're about to face. We don't need to know that. We need to know how to successfully tackle those challenges. And not to mention, I think this Author may be just a little psychotic. He tries to convince people that we have multiple personalities. Last I checked, such a concept is an illness called multiple personality disorder. And this guy tries to convince people that such a concept is the real us. Nope....

Didn't like the author's writing style or his fake story. This book didn't ignite anything inside me, unlike other books that I have read. There were a few good points taken from the book, but this could have been summarized in a couple pages. No need for a book! I'd say I wasted my time reading this for what I gained from it.

Very informative read, and so far has given me the best insight on what it takes to start, operate, and eventually own your own small business or franchise. The story with Sarah is a great metaphor for all of the questions that I was personally asking as I was reading the book, and it was a very inspiring read that makes me want to get up and make the first step even though it's 11:30 PM on a Sunday! If you are interested in owning a business, this book is a must!
