I have fallen in love with Marietta, Montana- again! Willa and her son Scout travel from AZ to MT to spend Christmas at a Bed and Breakfast, a final gift from one of her patients. Finn is following the pair trying to see why his father left her "too much" for just being his nurse. As the days go by Scout is having a blast in the cold weather. Willa is learning to relax her tight hold on Scout and notice Finn. Finn is finally realizing why his father did what he did and sees his future plans changing, which is giving him hope. This story is another great addition to the series. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Goodness, I love Bramble House! It’s one of those rare story settings that I feel a need to visit. Carmichael returns to it with this sweet, emotional Christmas tale, painting it in all its glory. Throughout this well written novel Carmichael not only brings Christmas in Marietta to life, she also tells a tale that both broke my heart and gave new meaning to Christmas and forgiveness. I loved the many aspects that came together to create this complete picture. Finn & Willa were quite the pair in this story. Both kept secrets, and both fell in love without meaning to. They were also entertaining individuals. Finn’s need to know what happened to his father while also being true to himself really drew me in. Willa’s past & fears made her real and into someone that I truly cared for. Scout broke my heart. His little fighting nature was the perfect addition to this Christmas tale. And one can’t forget Kris Krinkle. This secondary character definitely made Christmas so much sweeter. Once again Carmichael has brought the spirit of Christmas to life with the tip of her pen. This was a fun, family Christmas story with one heck of a twist. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful story which entwines two families through the magic of Christmas: love, romance, healing, and a few miracles along the way. Heartwarming and a joy to read. I highly recommend!

About the author

Hard to imagine a more glamorous life than being an accountant, isn’t it? Still, I gave up the thrills of income tax forms and double entry book-keeping when I sold my first book in 1998. Hard to believe I’ve now written more than 40 (2 of which were nominated for RITAs).

When I’m not writing I love to be out hiking, cross-country skiing or biking. I’m not athletic—I just enjoy the outdoors, especially here in Calgary, where I live, and on Flathead Lake, Montana, where we have a cottage. My partner Mike and I share this in common. We also love to play cribbage and Scrabble. If a glass of wine is on the table, so much the better!
