About this ebook

He’s a billionaire.

Peter Nguyen has achieved everything he ever wanted. So why isn’t he happier? He goes to his high school reunion to show up all the people who didn’t give the time of day to the skinny, nerdy boy he’d been. But then he runs into his old friend Britt.

She can barely pay her bills.

Brittanica Jones watched her future evaporate when she had to leave college after a brutal attack left her mother incapacitated. She hasn’t done anything she set out to do, and the only reason she even goes to her high school reunion is to reconnect with her old friend Peter . . . even though he ghosted her back when she needed him most.

They’ve got nothing in common…except each other.

When Peter sees Britt again, he realizes how much he misses her. Her acerbic quick wit and “take no shit” attitude are a welcome change from people who fawn all over him. When he realizes that he’s got the means to help her out, he offers her a temporary job.

However, grown-up Britt inspires sexy thoughts, not friendship thoughts. Their relationship deepens into a romance. Britt’s downtrodden heart blossoms with the opportunity to work with Peter and explore their changed relationship. But this interlude has an end date, and when disaster strikes, she’s got no choice but to leave.

Can these old high school friends overcome the hurts from the past and find love with each other?

Very well written contemporary romance. I like both characters because they are realistic and relatable. Their story is entertaining and very emotionally engaging. Britt is strong, selfless, very smart, a little stubborn and a little prideful. Peter portrays an example of the distinguishing being rich and being happy, I don't think he was arrogant though just needed a fresh perspective. They have an obvious chemistry and have a few past and present issues to work through as they try to overcome one another's misunderstandings and find a perfect fit for their rekindled friendship and newfound love....after all there's no place like home. Peter and Brit were close friends in high school, but shortly after that they ghosted each other... or so they thought, when they needed each other the most. They see each other at the reunion, but it takes more to get them to talk and reconcile. Lots of answers to questions they have had for years. The characters are strong and determined, but limited by their situations, especially Brit. Surprises and twists threaten to split them again. Friends and resources turn things around for a much more loving and brighter future. Loved their banter and how they grew while getting to know each other again. The ending was perfect... but in a closet??? Can not wait to read more. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book three in The Billionaire Breakfast Club Series and it is Peter and Britt's story and omg this book keeps you on your toes. Peter and Britt have history as they were best friend's while they were in school but when Britt needed Peter the most he wasn't there for her. Now years later and they meet again at there school reunion but Britt is drowning in bills and looking after her mother who is ill and Britt hasn't achieved anything that she wanted too but Peter has achieved all that he set out to do but now they meet again and they are the total opposite and different people to what they used to be but now will it all work out for them in the end. I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to reading more books by Lisa Hughey in the future as she is a brilliant author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading. About the author

USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey started writing romance in the fourth grade. That particular story involved a prince and an engagement. Now, she writes about strong heroines who are perfectly capable of rescuing themselves and the heroes who love both their strength and their vulnerability. She pens romances of all types—suspense, paranormal, and contemporary—but at their heart, all her books celebrate the power of love. She lives in Cape Ann Massachusetts with her fabulously supportive husband and one somewhat grumpy cat. Beach walks, hiking, and traveling are her favorite ways to pass the time when she isn’t plotting new ways to get her characters to fall in love.
