About this ebook

Trapped was a Sunday Times bestseller and the first memoir from foster carer Rosie Lewis.

Phoebe, an autistic nine-year-old girl, is taken into police protection after a chance comment to one of her teachers alerts the authorities that all might not be what it seems in her comfortable, middle-class home. Experienced foster carer Rosie accepts the youngster as an emergency placement knowing that her autism will represent a challenge – not only for her but also for the rest of the family.

But after several shocking incidents of self-harming, Pica and threats to kill, it soon becomes apparent that Phoebe’s autism may be the least of her problems.

Locked for nine years in a secret world of severe abuse, as Phoebe opens up about her horrific past, her foster carer begins to suspect that Phoebe may not be suffering from autism at all.

I enjoyed reading this although was horrible what poor Pheobe went through at the hands of her own parents... Terrible 😓😓 Thank Goodness she had someone as kind and caring as Rosie to go to... It was lovely reading how much this young girls life changed for the better... It was lovely that she built a close bond with Rosie's son Jamie too... I must say I am a big Cathy Glass fan and have literally run out of her books to read now and I am finding it hard to find an author that gets me drawn in quite as much as Cathy but I did enjoy this and I hope Pheobe carried on thriving and have a fun, safe, happy and healthy future she truly deserves it after all she's been through ♥️ Will defo be reading more Rosie Lewis books this one is 4 stars from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🤗👍

I've only read the intro that's 5 pages and on the 1st page of chapter 1. That's how well this True story is told. It takes a Extremely strong woman to not only talk about her past in detail but share her life, I believe hope "Phoebe" is a woman now. I have empathy for her. I know. It was hard to read the short amount I have, If she can share it with a author in detail as she seems to of. I give her a lot of praise and the author for writing it so well. I'll read all of it.

I must admit I found it somewhat lacking in comparison to memoirs in a similar vein by writers such as Torey Hayden etc. That being said, it read smoothly and the descriptions of the people around her were wonderful and insightful. For one of her first published pieces, there is a good groundwork for improvement in future memoirs. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for further work from her.
