About this ebook

‘Wow!!! What an absolute cracker of a book!!!… I just loved everything about it… An absolutely addictive page turner that kept my heart in my throat on the edge of the seat… A compelling, page turning, mind blowing psychological thriller.’ Bookworm86 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You thought you’d always be safe there… you were wrong.

Carly had thought they’d always live there. The beautiful Cornish cliffside house they’d taken on as a wreck, that Mark had obsessively re-designed and renovated – a project that had made him famous. It was where they’d raised their children, where they’d sat cosily on the sofa watching storms raging over the sea below. It was where they’d promised to keep each other’s secrets…

Until now. Because Mark has fallen in love. With someone he definitely shouldn’t have. Someone who isn’t Carly. And suddenly their family home doesn’t feel like so much of a safe haven.

Carly thinks forever should mean forever though: it’s her home and she’ll stay there. Even the dark family secrets it contains feel like they belong to her. But someone disagrees. And, as threats start to arrive at her front door, it becomes clear, someone will stop at nothing. Because someone wants to demolish every last thing that makes Carly feel safe. Forever.

An utterly unputdownable psychological thriller about what lies are hidden in the most beautiful homes. Perfect for fans of Date Night, Gone Girl and The Woman in the Window.

A Psycho-Thriller with a perfect ending! A gorgeous cliff-side home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Cornwall. It's where Carly grew-up but it's an absolute wreck when her mother gifts it to her as a wedding present. To Carly it's her forever home. A living, breathing thing to be nurtured and, at the time, badly in need of being brought back to life. Carly's architect husband Mark took on the project. The redesign and reconstruction of their home was something Mark saw as a useful transformation, an over-the-top attempt to be noticed. To Mark it would be his business card, a tool to use to secure future work. But, mostly it was about being noticed! Carly filmed the renovation as Mark talked to her through the process. She would download the video to social media sites and they quickly gained followers. She tagged where DIY supplies were purchased which generated support from companies for future costs of supplies to keep the project going. What started as a home remodel project eventually turned into a popular TV home improvement show watched by millions. Now a US streaming service is interested in 'Forever Home' and a trip to America seems to be in Carly's and Mark's future. It all feels so perfect! Like a dream come true! Handsome, charismatic Mark and beautiful, supportive Carly in a perfect marriage and living in their gorgeous forever home where it all began! It is also in their forever home where, on the night of their 25th Wedding Anniversary party, it all comes crashing down! Maybe perfect isn't forever.... This story is told in the first person voice of protagonist, Carly. She leads the reader on an emotional narrative about her marriage, her children and her forever home, the only home she's lived in. Through this narration the backstories have depth and the character development is strong. Carly, without a doubt, is my favorite character and I admire her unfiltered displays of strength and courage! I enjoy reading a book with shorter chapters and this one has that. The pace of this story was just right and sprinkled with lots of teasers to keep me reading. The author artfully had me guessing about a couple of the characters motives through to the end. The final twist was unexpected and I loved it! The ending was perfection! I highly recommend this book to all who love Psycho-Thrillers or just a well-constructed story. I know I will definitely read this author again! 'The Forever Home' is due to publish on 6/4/21! Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Sue Watson for an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The Forever Home by the amazing talent that is Sue Watson is a gripping and riveting story that follows the life of golden couple and celebrities Carly and Mark. Known for their DIY television show and their remarkable ocean cliffside home in Cornwall, their marriage is the envy of all. But behind closed doors, it is a very different story…a very different one indeed. As with so many other books that I have read this year, The Forever Home is another one that kept me up all night reading it. I tried to put it down at one point to go to sleep, but nope the compulsion to keep reading was just too strong. Sue Watson really knows how to weave a tale to keep your attention and hold you hostage. The are a few characters in the story and are a mix of likeable and unlikeable. It’s fair to say that Mark is an absolute jerk and I disliked him right from the get go. My feelings were reinforced all the more the story progressed. I am not a violent person at all but, he did make me want to reach into my Kindle and sock him one! I liked Carly and felt for her being married to such a doucebag and was empathic to the secret that she has been living with, which Mark holds over her to get what he wants. But Carly isn’t the only one hiding a secret and if Mark’s is exposed will ruin his squeaky clean image. The house is also a character within itself and as I was reading the book I was completely under its spell. Sue Watson has done such a brilliant job bringing it to life through writing that is so very vivid, you feel like you are there experiencing it as the characters do. This book absolutely rocks and I think it is Sue Watson’s best work to date! Well plotted and executed, it is also twisty, addictive and with a jaw dropping fist pumping finale, If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, you do not want to let this one pass you by. It is definitely a must read and will be part of my best books for 2021!

This book is fabulous! I’ve never been so angry for a character as I was for leading lady, Carly; and I loved that I was angry. How blooming well entertaining and gripping. This beautiful forever home had been featured endlessly on TV in a show presented by the Andersons, with Mark the husband being the main feature. On the surface, life seems brilliant with their success envied by all, but this description of the house made me think of the relationships that played out through the book. ‘Breakable, the foundations moving all the time, miniscule, but real nonetheless.’ I love this underlying rumble that nothing ever stays the same even if you can’t see or feel the changes. Time moves even if we want to stay where we are forever. We just hope that these movements don’t destroy us. I loved how the cracks in the building were reflected in the cracking relationships. As for the location, it couldn’t be better. Who doesn’t love a dreamy seaside town? Looe was perfect and there was a real sense of setting. The sea crashing against the rocks; saltiness in the air; the cutesy cafes. Let me stop... I’m not describing a romance at the seaside here, this book will have you clutching it like you’re strangling it. That’s how emotional this journey was. I was so on team Carly throughout. Without saying too much, I can tell you that those blue skies build up to a great big thunderclap which kept me on the edge of my seat. For thrill seekers who love it scary, for people who like books that delve into the ugliest sides of human nature and for an unforgettable ending... you need to read The Forever Home!
