The Truth and Lies Duet is supremely written and had me on the edge of my seat. From the very first page of Crown of Lies (book 1) until the very last page of Throne of Truth (book 2), Pepper Winters captivates her readers. Raw, edgy, and unpredictable, Ms. Winters weaves a story of suspense, mystery, abuse, secrets, lies, angst, heartbreak, obstacles, betrayal, deceit, forgiveness, over whelming emotions, a great plot-line, and a hero and heroine that you can empathize with. This book stays with you long after you've finished reading it. I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.

This book was absolutely amazing!! Picking up where "Crown of Lies" left off, the author takes you on a tense and emotionally filled journey, loaded with many twists and turns that leave you wondering what could possibly happen next. It follows the path of an intense,gorgeous and mysterious man and a powerful, sexy and independant woman and all the ups and downs of a romance so hot you'll get a sunburn from reading the pages. True Love will always win in the end, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get intense along the way, forcing you to try with everything you have to get to the moment of Truth. Throne of Truth is an absolute must read!!!

Throne of Truth is the conclusion to the Truth and Lies Duet that I've been dying to read since finishing Crown of Lies. This book picks right up where Crown of Lies ended as Elle has been kidnapped by her crazy childhood friend, Greg, and Penn is on the hunt to find her. In Throne of Truth we discover who Penn really is, which was a huge mystery in CoL. Is he Elle's long lost love from that fateful night in the park or is he a clever and manipulative thief toying with her for dastardly reasons? I can't tell, you just have to read ToT to find out! I will say that I enjoyed ToT and it's many twists and turns. It revealed all there was to Penn and Elle and although I was satisfied with the ending, I was a bit disappointed in where the author decided to take the story in between. There was a lot of time where Penn and Elle were apart and that was frustrating to me as a reader. I understand the "why" behind it, but I just wanted them to be together more instead of apart. That was difficult for me. With that being said, Crown of Lies and Throne of Truth are a MUST READ! Pepper Winters is an amazing author who weaves a beautiful story full of love, hope, redemption, complexity and passion. She is one author that I always read and always enjoy. Great job!
