About this ebook

Welcome to a new half-human, half-vampire world where the stakes are even higher and everyone is out for blood—the first installment in the New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy spinoff series!

“We’re suckers for it.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Stands out from the crowded vampire genre.”—Associated Press

Alchemists protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with Dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragonir—the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir—is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the unlikeliest of places: a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. The Last thing Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathizing with vampires. And how she has to live with one.

The Moroi court believe Jill Sydney will be safe at Amberwood Prep, but threats, distractions, and forbidden romance lurk both outside—and within—the school grounds. Now that they’re in hiding, the drama is only just beginning.

I like the book but everything about it is too obvious. You'd have to be an idiot to not notice the synchronicities and not so subtly hints far before any formal "revelation." Jill's "need" for adrian, her night terrors, being hungover, trey's sun tattoo and clarence saying how vampire hunters worshiped the sun. The tattoos all of it! It was like... like trying to ignore an elephant in a room!

I loved the "Vampire Academy" series because of the mixture between action and drama. There was never a dull moment. In the "Bloodlines" series I can tell that there will be that same mixture with a twist of mysteriousness. I have only read the first book, but I am excited to embark on this journey. I anticipate that the series will be about the main characters' journey of finding her place in her world. My relation to that is what makes my excitement grow larger.
