Julia Maitret was born in San Rafael, Veracruz, Mexico. She made her studies in Puebla, Mexico, until she obtained her Accountant degree. She then got an academic degree in Psicology and another in Interior Design. After a while she decided to go back to the University to pursue her degree in Humanities which she wasn't able to obtain due to the loss of two of her children; her oldest son at the age of 19 and her youngest at the age of 4. She's convinced that her change to vegetarianism gave her the strength to endure and overcome her pain. Her husband and her, as a couple, couldn't overcome it together and got a divorce. She's been a vegetarian for 34 years and has been studying about nutrition for over 40 years.
