While her brother certainly doesn’t approve of her relation with amazon, I think that these two make an adorable couple. Sure, they certainly have different backgrounds and Mason’s history will always be always there, but he sure seems like a great guy. I was dismayed when Mia kidnapped, by the courage that amazon shows in his mission to get her back has me firmly in his corner. This book was a great rush of romance and suspense and made for a nice weekend read I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

He's everything she should run far and away from but . . . she saw him. Through all of the exterior stuff she saw him and one night wasn't enough. With is past and the connections that go with it he is a hazard to anyone he is close to but . . . she was different. Something about her touched him in ways no one ever had. This author gives us their story and what's starts as steamy but turns into more. The desire to do right when all you know is wrong isn't always enough. We get to see not only his battle to change but also the cost of being close to him in the midst of it all. The ties that bind may be stronger than they imagined. A great story that will touch your heart and quicken it's pace through the thrills and intrigue. Yup it's a standalone with some pretty interesting characters I am sure will turn up in upcoming books and I plan on being around to enjoy them.

Amber Daulton has written a 5-star book. Mia is late for work and she almost runs Mason over as she makes a turn. After they talk and she makes sure he is fine Mason asks her out. They hit it off on their date and end up at her house after and spend the night together.Mason wants Mia but he fells she needs to know that he had spent the last 10 years in prison. She doesn't react to the news like he thought she would. The next morning she is fixing breakfast when her brotherJim comes in. Unknown to MIa and Mason, Jim is Mason's parole officer. Mia tries to get Jim to leave but before he does, Mason comes out and Jim gets mad seeing him. He tells Mia that she needs to stop seeing Mason. Mia gets mad over this and tells Jim that she likes Mason and for Jim not to mess it up for her. Jim puts a curfew of 8:00 p.m. on Mason. Mason lives with his brother and Mia has gone over there and when Jim finds out about this, he puts a band on her going over there. This really makes Mia mad. Mia and Mason find a way to make things work out for them. They are out to dinner when a couple of men show up and they are guys from Mason's old life. The men are Trent and Pedro and Trent invites Mason to a party he is having that weekend. Things after this do not go so well for Mason. Douglas is the person that wants to see Mason and he wants him to work for him. Mason doesn't want to have anything to do with that life again and he tells Douglas that. While Mason is talking to Douglas, there is someone going after Mia. Mason goes to Mia's after his meeting and finds her gone. Jim shows up after Mason gets there and asked what happened. There is a phone call and Jim answers. When he hangs up Mason asked "Who was on the phone?" Jim said "the kidnappers. They want us to take a little ride." Jim and Mason now have to work together to save Mia. When Mason and Jim get to the meeting, things go from bad to worse for the three of them. Mia is tied to a chair and Mason and Jim are in a fight to save them. Can Mason get Mia and Jim free? Can Mia and Mason work things out? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.
