Rescuing the Handmaiden

· Lindsay Randall

About this ebook

Devon Covington wants one thing in life: the inheritance long denied him due to the treachery of his arch-enemy, General Erik Bjord.

Returning to Sweden, in search of the signet ring that will prove him sole heir to his father’s estate, Devon discovers his childhood friend, Princess Thora-Lisa, and her beautiful handmaiden, Brigitta, in desperate need.

Thora Lisa's deathbed request is for Devon to carry out her final wishes and for Brigitta to impersonate Thora-Lisa and take her place as Erik Bjord’s soon-to-be bride.

But the princess’s hiding veils cannot conceal Brigitta's beauty or the intelligence and spirit in her blue eyes. Nor will it keep her safe from Devon's biggest foe. Brigitta’s courage captivates Devon. Her warmth and tenderness make him long for the kind of life he has never known.

When the fearsome Bjord dares to remove Brigitta’s veils, she knows that her life is in danger. It is Devon who comes to her aid and risks everything—his heart, his home—to save her. He will stop at nothing to protect the only treasure in his life worth claiming.
