About this ebook

Convicted of a series of horrific crimes against young college students in upscale Santa Barbara, wealthy playboy Charlie Mendez has fled across the US border into Mexico.

As one bounty hunter after another meets a grisly end at the hands of the murderous drug cartel his family have hired to keep him safe, it seems that Mendez is one fugitive destined to remain beyond the reach of the law. Or at least that's how it looks until one determined victim persuades high-end security specialist Ryan Lock and his partner, retired Marine Ty Johnson, to go after him.

"This is real man-hunt stuff, with tension and action galore . . . Readers who like their thrills and spills coming at them at a hectic pace will revel in this tale of life and death" - Shotsmag
"This series is ace. There are deservedly strong Lee Child comparisons as the author is also a Brit, his novels US-based, his character appealing, and his publisher the same." - Sarah Broadhurst, The Bookseller
"This is a writer, and a hero, to watch." - The Daily Mail
"Sean Black writes with the pace of Lee Child, and the heart of Harlan Coben." - New York Times Bestseller, Joseph Finder
"Like Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Lock is an ex-military policeman. Unlike Reacher, he has a job (as an elite bodyguard), a home, friends and a sense of humour. Lock's likeability contrasts with Reacher's pomposity and Black's style is supremely slick" - The Daily Telegraph

For fans of Vince Flynn, Jack Reacher, Brad Thor, James Patterson, Lee Child, Alex Cross, Nelson DeMille, David Baldacci, John Sandford, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais, Mark Greaney, Tom Clancy, Gregg Hurwitz, Dan Brown, John Grisham, Simon Kernick, Joseph Finder.

points: 3.5 stars This was my first book of the author. It was good and very fast-paced. I enjoyed it most because it was focused just on the story and never contained any add-on texts to fill the pages. despite that I love mystery genre and want to see a little mystery even in crime novels, this book hasn't written as a mysterious story in my opinion. but it was a good crime/action story and it deserves to get 3.5 starts from me. if it had just a small piece of mystery in it, I definitely have given it 4 stars. at the end, I satisfied with it and will read another book of this author.

Fast-paced and thought -provoking. Black puts you in the passenger seat with Ryan at the helm. More than a good read it is an experience ... leaves the reader craving more.
