“A life-or-death adventure.” —Entertainment Weekly

Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever.” The evening’s host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old billionaire and futurist, and one of Langdon’s first students.

But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch’s precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced to flee. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch. They travel to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.

Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade an enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain’s Royal Palace. They uncover clues that ultimately bring them face-to-face with Kirsch’s shocking discovery . . . and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

Yet another one of Dan Brown's intricate creations, Origin is as mysterious, well thought out and brilliantly executed as usual. This series likes to cover big topics, religion, the role of history etc., and Origin is no exception. Brown skillfully spun a very realistic tale, as is his MO, such that he manages to postulate large claims, but does so in an incredibly believable manner.

Origin is accurate, well paced and entertaining. Some descriptive areas were excessive at time (typical of a Dan Brown book) and the ending dragged on a bit too much for my liking. Would recommend.

I've read all Dan Brown's books before and this still quite a good one. But sorry I feel less attractive. Too much silly details that no one wants to know, especially when Langdon enters the password. He tried to make his book as long as possible but it just drives me nut. The adventure is not interested like others. Everything happened too fast and didn't have many obscures. They just go there and find the password and leave and enter it and boom. A step backward of Dan Brown.
