You can read my longer review at SpoiledMilks (06/27/25). Behind the Scenes of the New Testament offers 62 essays that illuminate the NT’s historical, cultural, and social context. With standout pieces on ancient biography, gift-giving, and Jewish traditions, it enriches understanding of the NT world. Though more sociological than theological, it remains a valuable resource for students, pastors, and scholars. Disclosure: I received this book free from the publisher for an honest review.
