About this ebook

The epic conclusion to the New York Times–bestselling Summoner trilogy, by Taran Matharu!

Fletcher and his friends fight for survival in the ether, where they pursue a mortally dangerous quest to rebuild their world and broker peace.

Even as hatred threatens to turn friend into foe in The Battlemage, Fletcher must lead a small army of soldiers into battle to protect his ancestral homeland, and face his biggest challenge yet: his nemesis, the albino orc, Khan, who seeks to destroy everything Fletcher holds dear.

I read the first and second book; they're just like the third. No character development for Fletcher, the main character, as he's perfect. No one is ever competent enough to counter his fool-hardy plans; Didric and the rest of the nobles are stereotypically smug and rude; the book itself is littered with grammatical errors; Fletcher takes too many unrealistic risks that constantly work (he's way too lucky) and he's not a relatable character - e.g. he doesn't follow mainstream politics in the universe. I did enjoy the demons, summoning, spells, and the world overall, but not much else. The race issues in it also felt forced and (frankly) unnecessary. P.S. Please learn about the oxford comma. It was much too rampant in every one of your books.

So i should say i really like the way he did magic and all that; That being said he had great magic he used exactly once in a jail cell that would have given him and his team a massive advantage... Cats eye spell, night vision. In the jungle and in the ether. O and the ending was like 0 to 100. 😶

I loved it, but the ending didn't feel satisfying. It definitely needs to be added on to, weather it's with prequels or sequels. There's a lot of unanswered questions, such as where the Ether's light source is, or what that shrine that Fletcher and Sylva found meant. There's so much more that could be explained. Maybe Taran could do what Rick Riodrian did and make a spin-off series.
