About this ebook

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

Maybe it's because I am older. Maybe it's because have lost that "feel" with the books... This book felt more like a poorly written fan fiction than Rick's previous titles. It felt like some things were forced in there to fit agendas, and it was deemed unnecessary. As a huge fan of his work, I was greatly disappointed in this title. The poor character development in this book was painful, and led me to hate characters I knew and loved. I am heartbroken. I am glad for those who enjoyed this book, but not me.

I've been reading the Olympians series, and now the heroes of mount Olympus series since I was in highschool. This book makes for an excellent light read, the humor is light, though a bit repetitive. Annabeth's solution for dealing with the old gods doesn't have much variety, I won't spoil it though so you'll have to read it for yourself. This book is great in other aspects though, the pacing is great, and the near chapter to chapter cliffhangers had me turning pages like mad. Looking forward to book 5
