I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nephthys was unhappy with Seth and disliked the things he did. When Heka arrives in Seth's compound to get her to return to Karnak, she can't bring herself to leave yet. Nephthys and Heka start a relationship under Seth's nose. However when Seth punishes a boy, it is too much for Nephthys and she returns to Karnak with Heka and resumes her duties. It is interesting how this story brings life to Egyptian myths.

Prisoner of Seth! Nephthys may be Seth's wife but she is as much a prisoner as all the others in his compound. She used to think she could help him change but it's too late. All she can do now is try to protect others from his wrath and paranoia. If there was a way to return to Karnak she would gladly go. When she is actually given a chance does she dare take it? Such a good series! Nephthys deserved happiness and someone who treats her better than Seth.

Nephthys is Seth’s wife and no one understands why she stays with him. Heka comes to Seth’s compound to get Nephthys to leave and return to Karnak. There are games being played by the gods and you never know who is working for who. An interesting short story that was an enjoyable read.
