About this ebook

This booklet is another addition to the series of books for children about prominent figures in Islam. This small booklet narrates details of the life of the Promised Messiah(as) and his family in a very loving and informal style recounting events from his life that are sure to captivate the attention of the reader, both young and old. As a small child, he used to play with his cousin and once said to her, ‘Pray for me that God grants me Salat.’ This sentence reveals the great desire the Promised Messiah(as) had for offering his Prayers, and the fact that he asked God Almighty for the ability to do so affirms that from a very young age, he firmly believed that the ability to do good deeds could be acquired only through God’s Grace. The practice of the Promised Messiah(as) during his childhood and youth was such that he would spend most of his time secluded in the worship of God. Due to this, his father used to call him a maseetarh (one who spends most of his time in a mosque). His father would constantly worry about his future. He wanted the Promised Messiah(as) to take an interest in worldly affairs and to develop connections with people. He would worry that others might cause the Promised Messiah(as) harm due to his innocence. However, God Almighty had already taken him under His care; hence, his childhood passed in this manner. God Himself guides and helps the one who starts on a journey towards Him.
