This book is riddled with cliches, hurried dialogue, and a barely coherent plot line. The protagonist literally lucks into her first lead and every revelation from that point is just as fantastical. There are also some serious overtones of misogyny and sexism. Every female character is either hyper-sexualized, or depicted as frumpy and unattractive, which is odd for a book that centers on a female protagonist. I really had to force myself to finish this book. Normally, I'm not one to write critical reviews, but I picked this book up because of the reviews and don't want some other poor sap to suffer the same fate.

This book was not at all boring, but did take a little longer than most to get into real suspense. It was a little difficult to imagine someone advancing in their career so quickly with some extremely poor decision making at the beginning to middle. It was a great book to pass the time on some flights. I'd be interested in reading more in the series, but I'm doubtful the plot or format would be much different (because this book is unique in this genre, I feel the author might perpetuate it).

Very good read. Some times a bit ott with Erikas autonomous actions that got her into trouble... a real copper wouldnt have done it and another writer such as Greaham Masterton would have handled the situation better with the story board but over all a bloody good read!
