About this ebook

They call it a school. It’s really a graveyard.

When a teenage girl is legally abducted and sent to a remote, cult-like facility in the American wasteland, Ryan Lock and Ty Johnson are hired to get eyes on her.

Going undercover, they uncover a sickening regime of institutional abuse, backed by a dark history of covered-up student deaths. But before Lock can pull the plug, the camp erupts.

Traumatized kids have taken the guards hostage, Ty is trapped in the crossfire, and the desert is waiting to swallow the survivors. Ryan Lock didn't start this fire, but he’s going to finish it.

Praise for Sean Black's Ryan Lock series:

"This series is ace. There are deservedly strong Lee Child comparisons as the author is also a Brit, his novels US-based, his character appealing, and his publisher the same." - Sarah Broadhurst, The Bookseller

"Black's style is supremely slick." - Jeremy Jehu, The Daily Telegraph

"The pace of Lee Child, and the heart of Harlan Coben." - Joseph Finder, New York Times Bestseller (Paranoia, Buried Secrets)

"The heir apparent to Lee Child" - Ken Bruen

'Ryan Lock (is) a protagonist tough enough to take on the Jacks of this world (that's Bauer and Reacher)' - Russel McLean

The story is good,it piqued my interest from the very start, few unexpected twists ,i keep on reading until i finished it ..see that's a good book right,i like when i read a book that play with my emotions which by the way lack in this book. The author should dive into the personality and elaborated futher the anguish of the children esp Ruth,Mary even Rachel..at least they should having nightmares.. And what happened to Applewhite.kind of dissatisfied and disappointing..

a novel that shows both the fear of parents for their children's kife as they grow up and the "i may seem tougher but underneath it all i am a kid who needs his or her oarents to really listen and be there" teens

Good read. Started reading because it was free and I was bored but quickly got sucked in by the plot and character development. I'll buy more of this author's books
