i enjoyed this story from start to finish. Lucy's acceptance of her predicament and then making the best of a difficult situation. the characters surrounding her are interesting also with her bringing a touch of the 20th century in, always aware of whether or not her actions could change the course of history. Just little things like a crochet hook, introducing a different menu, to the people of that time. the love interest seems to take a while to get on the move but maybe because the story ended which leaves my imagination room to move

I assume the author is American. Because in the book he converted for her a distance into miles. Well perhaps if the research had been more thorough, she would know we use miles over here too. That was very odd and I had to read that bit a few times to understand what was meant. That being said it was an interesting book. It's a shame when such a little mistake can make you lose your emersion in a book.

The story was well written and the characters are wholesome. There were no cringey moments or points where the story sag and got boring. The romance is slow burn and definitely not for those looking for whirlwind romance or the racy 21st century romance. The romance is also more on the mental connection of the individual rather than the physical and sexual attraction.

About the author

Cynthia Luhrs writes time travel because she hasn’t found a way (yet) to transport herself to medieval England where she’s certain a knight in slightly tarnished armor is waiting for her arrival. She traveled a great deal and now resides in the colonies with three tiger cats who like to disrupt her writing by sitting on the keyboard. She is overly fond of shoes, sloths, and tea.
