About this ebook

This Special Edition of The Hunger Games includes the most extensive interview Suzanne Collins has given since the publication of The Hunger Games; an absorbing behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the series; and an engaging archival conversation between Suzanne Collins and YA legend Walter Dean Myers on writing about war. The Special Edition answers many questions fans have had over the years, and gives great insight into the creation of this era-defining work.

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

This book was a travesty. Poorly written, in god awful first person present tense, with childish grammatical mistakes and a plot lifted almost straight from Battle Royale and The Running Man, The Hunger Games was a true disappointment. A sorry love triangle, flat, unlikeable characters, and a deus ex machina ending do wonders for showing the true abilities of this unoriginal and uncreative author. For shame, America. Suzanne Collins' only skill is in exploiting you guys. Go Team PeeNis.

It was something new at first, and was interesting but UGH I cannot STAND the repetative violence, the lovey dovey nonsense, and how this is suppose to be in north amurica. Seriously? This all seems too fake to even be real. C'mon! More realistic action! I doubt ANYONE in this world will act like this 'Katniss' or 'peeta'. They are like those unreal cartoon characters you wished were real! I thought it would get better later on the series, but i was wrong! Didnt even bother with the 3rd book. Peace.

I read this book late last year in high hopes that it would be as great as everyone said it was. It was alright in the beginning, but it got boring. Fast. A friend said it got better once the games actually started, which it did, but the fighting lacked to the depth and detail required to make anything near great fight scenes. The whole thing was very predictable and pointless. I was expecting a terrific and violent book, but I was really let down. In the end, this is just a terrible waste of time.
