About this ebook

Two broken hearts. One small town. A second chance neither of them expected.

Being a Marine was all Jax Marshall ever knew—until a tragic event leaves him honorably discharged and back in Red Maple Falls, the last place he wanted to be. Struggling with PTSD and adjusting to life after injury, Jax feels disconnected from everything he once was. Encouraged by his eldest sister to try therapy one more time, he never expects that decision to change his life.

Kristen Morgan never planned on becoming a single mother. After losing her husband in a devastating house fire, she’s focused on rebuilding a life for herself and her two young sons. During a panic attack while waiting for her child’s therapy session, she crosses paths with a brooding ex-Marine who seems equal parts rude and intriguing.

As chance encounters turn into something deeper, Jax and Kristen find comfort in each other’s pain and strength in their shared healing. But when Jax’s trauma makes him question whether he’s a danger to the woman he loves, he’s forced to decide if walking away is safer than staying.

Jaded Until Jax is a single mom and wounded hero small-town romance filled with healing, emotional depth, and the power of finding love after loss, and is part of the beloved Red Maple Falls romance series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new "Red Maple Falls" story. It's Jax and Kristen's story, a single mother and a wounded Marine. They don't get off to a good start but quickly become friends and then so much more. I love the dialogue! This is such a good story that is a touch emotional. As these two struggle to move past tragedy they find something special. It's nicely developed and well written. I love the characters and the chemistry is definitely undeniable.

One of my favorites of the Marshall family, and a great book on the realistic view on mental illness and PTSD. Loved all the characters (the kids were fantastic!) and can't wait to spend more time in this small town. Love, love, love!
