تحديد زمن بعينه لبداية الفلسفة، فالإنسان يتميز عن غيره من الكائنات الأخرى بالعقل، وقد
بدأت عملية التفكير تتطور لديه بالتدريج حتى وصل لفعل التأمل والبحث والسؤال، وهذا
بحد ذاته يعتبر بمثابة حجر الأساس للفلسفة، وإن كان يصطلح على تحديد الفترة التي بدأت
فيها الفلسفة بالقرن السادس قبل الميلاد من قبل الكثير من مؤرخي الفلسفة الذين ربطوا
تاريخ "الفلسفة" بالحضارة اليونانية، وكذلك الأمر نفسه ينطبق على "التربية" إذ يمكننا القول:
بأنها قد ظهرت مع ظهور الإنسان وشعوره بكيانه باعتباره فرداً في جماعة من الجماعات
