Ratings and reviews

I loved the story, but some of the character description was a little weak. "He looked a lot like Keith Richards." I had to look up Keith Richards to remind myself of what HE looked like. He is a great writer and CAN BE very descriptive, but this slightly irked me.

Slow and steadily scary right from the start. Innovative way to end and begin chapters too. I've never seen anything like that before. On another note... I love Locke & Key. I loved Heart Shaped Box, and really enjoyed all Hills other books. I'll always be on the lookout for his novels.

One of those rare books, that allow you to become so emotionally invested in the characters, (warts and all) that it is easy to suspend disbelief, and ride the roller coaster plot with the characters. Very enjoyable, my first read of this author, definitely not my last. Highly recommended! 👍
