About this ebook

To restore his honour, he must bring her home.

To protect her life, she must guard her heart.

Two secrets hold the key to their ruin.

Rescued as an infant from a fate decreed by unforgiving laws, Xanthia has forged a life of fierce independence far from the land that once condemned her. When a Spartan warrior arrives to claim her, he shatters the fragile peace she has fought to protect. Proud and unyielding, Xanthia refuses to return to a city where her very existence is unwelcome and where she believes one secret, uncovered, would mean banishment once more.

Acastus is bound by oath and honour to bring her home. Haunted by guilt over her exile and her mother's death, he believes this mission is his only path to redemption. But the closer he draws to fulfilling his vow, the more deeply he is ensnared by the woman he once betrayed and by a passion that could lead to his death.

As enemies move in the shadows, determined to silence Xanthia forever, old rivalries and disturbing secrets rise to the surface. With vengeance closing in and Sparta's judgment looming, Xanthia and Acastus must face the consequences of the past, and a desire powerful enough to destroy them both.

In a world of intrigue and family ties forged in the shadows, love may be the most dangerous secret of all.

Book Two of the Hearts of Sparta trilogy, this epic historical adventure romance delivers a slow-burn, forbidden love story filled with family intrigue and high stakes, where duty battles the heart.

Falling in love with Greek mythology at the age of thirteen, Anthea's love of the Spartans especially, came after reading Roger Lancelyn Green’s THE TALE OF TROY where she cheered on Menelaus to take his Queen back! She left a career in IT to pursue her love of storytelling and pander to an extremely spoilt German Shepherd who she refers to as ‘The Muse’.

A former horse-rider, Anthea enjoys keeping active and has a bucket list of travel destinations waiting to be fulfilled.
