NK's life... Speechless. In the Rose Gardener series you see this lively, welcoming, friendly and loving individual, not knowing the kind of hard life she had... Reality! I loved getting into Jed's mind (POV). That I read hand in hand with NK's chapter and I must say i found it really interesting to see what was going through he's mind the whole time vs that of NK.

Trailer Trash was a heartbreaker! Neely Kate has intrigued me from the start (Book 2 of Rose Gardner Mysteries) and I am glad she broke out into her own series! This book features what happened in those two years after high school when she went looking for her mother, Rose Gardner Mysteries will give you better insight to the characters but is not necessary; this is the first Neely Kate Mystery and can be read 'stand alone' (though why would you when both series are engrossing?), deals with NK's past alone, and could even make reading the RGM series more interesting afterward, since you'll know more than Rose's perspective! Best part of this book is learning more about the strength NK has to overcome and face her past and then move on with life with that bit of sparkle and sass that is both her trademark and her gift!

Neely Kate’s first novel exceeded my expectations. Trailer Trash definitely feels like a new series with new problems, new dynamics, and a new and fresh story line but it also has all the great and familiar characters I love from the two Rose Gardner series. Neely Kate has developed so much from when she was first introduced very early in the Rose Gardner Mystery series and it is amazing to see just how far she has actually come. This book highlights that and also divulges into the secret past she is always trying to ignore so you finally get to see what makes her who she is today. I love that this book was definitely all her own. While there were references to Rose, this book was focused on NK and the whole feel of the book was different than a Rose book. It’s easy to see her personality showing through and I thought it was great. I can’t wait for Neely Kate to continue her series after Rose’s new book, For the Birds. Trailer Trash is definitely a great beginning to this new series.
