Research has demonstrated that many young learners lose knowledge gained during the academic school year over the summer break. There are efforts to address this issue through “out of school time” (OST) programming. From summer camps to after school programs to home and community organizations, those working with K-12 children in these areas are eager to respond to the academic needs of the youth they serve.
