While this wasn’t my first Sophie Kisker story—that credit goes to a short story that was originally in an anthology—this book started me down a slightly stalkerish path to where I now own copies of all her books and when a new one comes up, I buy it without looking at the description. And this series is amazing. While you can read just this book, the world/universe that Ms. Kisker has built is amazing, scintillating, HAWT, and an absolute page-turner. It’s a mix of romance, sort of sci fi (ala Handmaid’s Tale), and a whole lot more. Very much recommended.
