As much as I loved Nial's story(Taken by Her Mates), I am going to have to say that this one is my favorite in the series. Dax is our first Atlan mate (and hopefully, not the last) and we get to find out about their traits which are totally different from the Prillon, Viken, and Trion mates. Even though Sarah is a soldier, she was accidentally processed as a Bride before the mistake was discovered. This story is a little different as it takes place on the front lines of the Hive/Coalition War. The story flows so smoothly that I could not put the book down. The author does a fantastic job of giving us enough background on both main characters that you feel that you really get to know them. Loved both Dax and Sarah, they are perfectly matched (of course). I am looking forward to more books in this series. I still have my fingers crossed to see the stories for Warden Egara and the men from the Colony.

A touching story but I think it can be enjoyed by men and women. I'm grateful that the author is confident enough in her characters not to leave a cliff hanger at the end. That is one of my pet hates. So I was able to enjoy the book

I love all of Grace Goodwin"s books. I care for herMC as much as i care about the soldiers on the front lines against the Hive. the possibility of more stories in this arena will keep her writing for years. I want to know more about the Atlan home world, I want more of the bride processing center. we know that they process criminals and volunteers but how do the women find out about the choice. can anyone volunteer? If there was men on earth that could make women feel like this then the process would not work. we need more warriors on earth and men who can get past their egos to make women feel safe. that is the key thing in all the stories. women will never submit to men who can not make her feel safe. this writer gives us a plot to follow, A MC we can root for and an enemy to hate. good job, keep going.
