About this ebook

Seeing the beautiful woman on the bridge sent a shock straight through Andy's heart.

Finding out she was the girl he'd tormented in high school sent a shock straight through his gut.

Looks like he has his work cut out for him to convince her that he's changed in the past twelve years.

Andy works for the Virginia Marine Police and rescues a beautiful woman from the cold waters of the Chesapeake Bay. But when he discovers that she is the girl he used to tease in high school, he vows to show her the man he's become.

Ivy can't believe that just as she returns to Baytown to work, the one boy she considered to be a jerk turns out to be the handsome man who saved her from drowning. Determined to show gratitude without giving an inch, it doesn't take long for her to find out the man is no longer the same boy she remembered.

Now, she's in the middle of danger and the man she's fallen for might be the only one to save her again.

Andy and Ivy's story drew me right in with action and suspense at the start and was a fast read. Happenstance put them crossing paths during a high danger situation, with Andy rescuing her and feeling an instance connection... but plot twist: he was her bully in High School. Neither recognized each other hence enter the angst. Luckily both have grown up and tackled the issues head on and found love.

I love the Baytown Heroes (and also the Baytown Boys, another series). Many beloved characters can be found within the story. Warmth and humor, friendship and romance, drug runners and sinister characters. This is a page turner but it is so much more. Andy and Ivy, with their past and their present. Bravo! I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A*R*C for honest review with no compensation Needing a Hero is book 4 in the Baytown Heroes series by Maryann Jordan and while I have read other series by her, this is my 1st Baytown Heroes book and I most certainly will be going back to get the others in this series. Andy Bergstrom and Ivy Watkins were classmates in high school where Andy had issues and kind of took it out on Ivy by calling her “Poison Ivy”…fast forward to Ivy moving back to town… So much is happening in this sto
