Great story of how Joel and Brittany's initial dislike of each other grew to one of love. Set in the mountains of Colorado at a riding resort was the perfect background for them to fall in love while Brit worked at the ranch & Joel, a U.S. Ranger, investigated poaching of wildlife in the area. Threats against Brittany's life made them both re-assess what they wanted for their future.

I didn't expect to enjoy this book because it's not my usual genre. The book club set a romance as the book to read. I actually enjoyed it and read it in one day. It has a good plot and the characters of Britt and Joel are well drawn. This book is a good first romance novel. I'd recommend it for pure escapism.

Joel and Brittany introduction is excellent. Britt training Gypsy mustang is so we'll written. I won't put the book down, the trill and mystery solved is excellent. I won't have suspect the culprit.

About the author

I fell in love with books at a young age, and growing up, whenever Dad realized I’d disappeared when I was supposed to be working, he usually found me hiding out somewhere with a book. Writing evolved from reading, and the first story I ever finished was in high school, about my celebrity crush. I got an A on that creative writing ‘assignment,’ though I’m not sure my teacher ever read all 187 pages. I started writing again in my mid-twenties, and no matter the journey my characters take, the end result is always the same—Happily Ever After.

I’m an avid reader, and also a fan of movies with that HEA. I live in my native Wisconsin with my husband and kids, and in my free time, I enjoy gardening, canning, and visiting my parents in Northeastern Wisconsin (Up North) at the family cabin on the lake.
